The folks at EducatorsTechonology.com have shared a link to this great Copyright and Fair Use Guidelines for Teachers poster from Tech & Learning. Handy to have. Please share with your teaching staff. Katie Add Comment Click here to see the Public Domain Review, a project of the Open Knowledge Foundation. It is a fascinating site, full of treasures in the public domain. The group monitors expiring copyrights and adds work daily. Katie The folks who made Don't Copy That Floppy back in 1992 have created an updated video dealing with the illegal copying of digital media. There was much discussion on the EdWeb webinar I watched about the appropriate age level for this video since there is a scene of a mother being taken away by enforcers for her minor son's infraction. The consensus seemed to be 6th grade and up. The makers of the product may produce a video for a younger audience. Be sure to watch the video before using it with younger students. The video is available at the website www.dontcopythat2.com , which also has lesson plans which are downloadable. We'll be looking them over to see if they can be used in the digital citizenship portion of the new technology curriculum which is coming our way! Katie |
