I want to bring your attention to this paragraph in the article, which I think highlights just one way libraries need to morph to places for production as opposed to being places to only find information.
Bankhead goes on to emphasize that “the more that libraries become not just consumption spaces, but creation spaces, the more we become more relevant in 21st-century where people are excited about connecting with each other electronically and meeting in the library rather than just studying quietly and individually.”
Realize that this is one aspect of the Makerspace movement you're all hearing more and more about and one that ties very closely to our curriculum. I hope you'll think about ways you might adapt this program for your school. Consider sharing the article with an Englsh teacher or two. Katie
